This week in The Enchanted Forest.....

·         In English this week we read ‘The Gruffalo!’ We talked about the different characters and had a go at describing them. The Y1s wrote a great description of the main character.

·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been busy recognising different numbers and finding the correct amount of objects to match. The Y1s have been working on solving number problems involving one more or less and counting in twos. 

·         We have also started to paint some Gruffalo paintings and talked about why we celebrate Harvest. We also talked about the similarities and differences between humans and animals.

This week in The Enchanted Forest.....

·         In English this week we have been learning about lists and when we might use them. We also had a go at labelling some photographs. The Y1s have been busy writing their own lists and captions.

·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been recognising and forming different numbers. The Y1s have been working on positioning numbers on a number line and finding one more or one less. 

·         We have also continued our work learning about the body and have been talking about special celebrations. We have also enjoyed using the iPads to take photos and have completed some artwork for display!

 

This week in The Enchanted Forest.....

·         In English this week we have been talking about our families. We drew some pictures of our families and had a go at labelling and writing about them.

·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been busy counting and playing counting games. The Y1s have been working on counting as well as reading and writing different numbers.

·         We have also been learning about different parts of the body and where we can find them. We learned about different types of celebration and talked about where we live. 

This week in The Enchanted Forest.....

This week we have been busy settling in and making lots of new friends. We have spent time exploring the outside and experimenting with the new equipment. The reception children have been working hard to write their name whilst the Y1s have been writing some facts about themselves. We have also painted some self-portraits ready to display in the classroom! A great first week at school!
